I get the point of no backup in this midline

I mean, is not so high... but when I zoom up the pic, it looks like you don't have redundancy in the sling around the tree so I'd like to say: 1st please use tree-pro, and second: please backup your sling, maybe it brakes for whatever reason... I know it's very unlikely to happen such a thing but it could happen, and you increase the possibilities no using tree-pro

for another side I really recommend you to set up this lines over water since there is no backup... otherwise just climb higher those trees and set the line up with a proper backup...

Maybe I sound too picky but my point is: if something happen to you doing slackline in this circumstances it also happen to all the community, mainly your closest one will get more restrictions and complications when trying to set up a line

hope you get my point and don't get angry with my input

Thanks for your comments, I totally agree with all of what you say.

The top photo was quite high and today I’m glad I did not make it much further.

For the lower lines where I was both comfortable and safe, tree pro should definitely been in place, especially considering what my tensioning system looked like.

I was too excited about finding these old photos yesterday and posted them without giving much thought to the message it would send, thoughts did though go into my lack of redundancy and less than primitive home made tensioning system.
I did mention though that the photos are 13 years old. 2006 was in the early days of social media and YouTube. As I remember it I did try but without success to find resources online.
I think we can probably all find dodgy setups on photos from back then, or from when we where trial-and-error beginners. Luckily how-to-guides are more readily accessible nowadays.

I am now both a certified arborist, circus rigger and Yogaslackers teacher and keen advocate for both safe practice and tree-pro.

Thanks for your comments (it could have been me writing them) absolutely no offence taken.

Play safe but keep pushing your limits :-)
